If you’re having trouble getting your pet to sleep at night, a bedding bug is on the horizon.
While the bugs are harmless, bed bugs are becoming more common and causing more problems.
In Australia, there have been a number of reports of pets being left to wake up on the floor, while others have fallen victim to bed bug bites.
Now, Australian company Bedbug, has a new bedding product that it claims will rid your pet of the bed bug and will prevent the spread of the disease.
“We’re hoping that this product will have a significant impact on the spread and spread of bed bugs,” Bedbug CEO Chris Stirling told ABC News.
The company’s product uses a specially formulated foam and a special formulation of insect repellent, which will be sprayed onto the dog’s sleeping area.
“A few of our customers have actually told us that the product has helped reduce their chances of bed bug bite,” Mr Stirling said.
The bed bug can survive for days without being sprayed, and it can spread to other parts of the house, Mr Stirl said.
“If you have a dog that gets into the bed, it’s not uncommon for them to bite the bedding,” he said.
It is important to remember that the bedbug is a tiny, non-aggressive insect and will attack if provoked, he said, so don’t be afraid to brush the area where the bug has been, or use your bare hands to get it out.
If you’ve been bitten, the best course of action is to immediately get the bug under control, Mr Trews said.
You can also call your local hospital or pet health provider to report a bed bug infestation.
“It’s also worth taking the opportunity to see the pest control specialist to see if you can help prevent the bed bugs spreading further,” he added.
“There’s a very high chance that the pest controls specialist will be able to identify the pest and will help you to deal with it.”
