The world’s food security is at risk, says the World Bank, as the world’s populations continue to rise and the world faces the prospect of more food riots.
In the first of a series of interviews with leading global thinkers on how food security can be improved, the bank’s executive director, David Siegel, said he was concerned about a trend that was undermining global growth and prosperity.
“Food is now an issue of global importance.
The world faces a crisis of food security,” he said.
“It’s about time we tackled this, but we have to do it in a smart way, and we have a lot of work to do.
We need to look at food policy, agriculture and the environment as well.””
But it is not just about food security.
We need to look at food policy, agriculture and the environment as well.”
The global crisis of climate change is expected to increase food prices, and the World Food Programme, the US Agency for International Development and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation are all calling for more ambitious food policies to tackle the challenges posed by climate change.
Mr Siegel also warned of a crisis in food sovereignty, the right of people to decide how to use their food.
“I think we are going through a period of change in how food is managed,” he told The Hindu.
“I think food sovereignty is under threat in some parts of the world.
We are going into an age where we need to rethink the role of governments in food systems.”
In some parts, the food systems are in chaos.
And we are witnessing food riots, where people are eating what they are told to eat.
Mr Skel said there was no “magic solution” to food security, but governments should take a holistic approach.””
We need to do a lot more thinking about the global food system and how it is managed and how we manage it to make sure we can make it work for the future.”

Food sovereignty is an issue that is of concern to many, and has been the focus of debate over the past few years.”
So we need policies that give us access to food in the most efficient way, so that the planet is not left behind.”
Food sovereignty is an issue that is of concern to many, and has been the focus of debate over the past few years.
While India and China have both increased their use of agro-ecological farming in recent years, China has not followed suit.
The UN Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) has warned that the lack of agricultural policies in many countries is contributing to a crisis for the planet.
The FAO has also highlighted a lack of transparency in how the food sector is managed.
“This creates the impression that food systems aren’t managed properly, which leads to poor quality and unsafe food,” it said.
“We need a system that is accountable, transparent and accountable to the people who are buying and consuming the food, not just the companies that produce it.”
According to Mr Siegel the global economy is facing a food security crisis, but he said it is likely to be solved by focusing on the challenges of food sovereignty.
“One of the challenges we have is that food sovereignty has not been a focus of our economic thinking for so long, and so many people do not know that there is an economic problem with food security in many parts of our global economy,” he explained.
“A lot has changed in the last 20 years, but the way we have dealt with food in many ways is not as good as it should be.”
There are challenges that we are facing in many areas, such as land and water issues, climate change and food security; there are challenges we can address through policy.
But the key is to have a holistic perspective and have a very strong understanding of what food is and how food has changed and is needed.
“Food is not only about food.
It is also about people, it is about jobs, it’s about the environment, it affects our health and well-being.
We all have a part to play in ensuring that food is safe and sustainable, that it is good for the people, and for the environment.”
Mr Roshan Kothari, co-author of the new book, Food Sovereignty: The World at Risk, said it was a time of change.
“When you have a food crisis and the people that are struggling the most are people who have been living on the land for thousands of years, then you need to recognise that this is not a crisis about the food,” he added.
“There is a crisis at
