A bed bug outbreak in the US state of Illinois has led to a nationwide recall, which could lead to an even smaller number of bed bugs than the one in New York City.
The Illinois Department of Public Health has issued a voluntary recall of bedding, blankets, bed linens, bedding blankets, blankets and bedding covers for use by anyone 18 years or older who has used bed bugs as bedding in Illinois or who has any other household member who has been exposed to bed bugs.
It says there is no risk of spreading the bugs to other people.
In addition, the state says there are no plans to introduce new bed bug-related regulations.
But the move comes amid widespread fears that the spread of bedbugs could lead the US to face a pandemic.
The state health department has warned of the potential spread of the bugs and other diseases if bed bugs are not addressed.
More than half a million people have died from bedbugs in the United States since 2000.
